Okay so we hit up NYC back in April, so I feel like I can’t delay blogging about it anymore given that it’s now late June. Be warned, this post doesn’t have much to do with fashion… after a week spent in Miami, we all felt pretty dishevelled and spent this entire week eating and drinking.
Definitely highlight was the NYC brunches…. which are pretty much an excuse to bottomless drinks during the day. Favs were Pranna and Essex.
What started out as having a breakfast burger and a few mimosas soon turned into podium dancing, vodka shots and rave lights. Having only paid $40 for brunch and bottomless drinks and after befriending those with table service, we walked out with wallets still full of USDs (which felt like monopoly money to us anyway), absolutely blind and still confused how brunch turned into a day club.
Next highlight is definitely our amazing hotel room… after booking too late and being stuck in South Beach in a 6-bed dorm room, we upgraded and stayed a hotel institutional to NYC… the Waldorf Astoria!
Our room… messy already after day 1!
And of course, it’s all about the food, highlights were:
Cafeteria for the best drinks and brunch food – the mac and cheese was amazing and I was told this is wear a lot of the Sex & the City brunches were filmed!
Nobu 57 for Japanese
Momofuku for the best pork buns and ramen
Daniel Restaurant in the Upper East Side… The food was absolutely amazing, but all being under the weather after the crazy week in Miami prior, we were struggling with the matching wine with our degustation menu. This is a restaurant where suit jackets must be worn at the dinner table (something I’ve never come across in Sydney) that’s how formal it was – and there we were, struggling to keep a straight face and behaving like we were in a dive bar!
Katz’s Delicatessen is an institution to new york city and their love for pastrami sandwiches!
Shake Shack is absolutely amazing for their shakes and burgers – just ask any new yorker!
Balthazaar’s
Anyway, my fault for not posting sooner… now I’ve forgotten most of it, but here’s some other random photos taken

That’s all for now, we’ll make sure to post more regularly from now, so watch this space!
